Takeoff 2026

Terms and press policy

November 13–15, 2026 · Washington, DC

These policies apply to Takeoff and its related events.

Takeoff is organized by Sparrow Infrastructure (a d/b/a of Atlas Computing Institute).

What terms apply when I register?

Registration means accepting these policies and attendance risks, including illness. Where lawful, you waive related injury, loss, and negligence claims against Atlas Computing Institute d/b/a Sparrow Infrastructure, its staff, volunteers, and venue partners.

Will sessions be recorded and posted online?

Some sessions will be recorded with the speaker’s agreement and posted after the conference; others will not be recorded, and some will be held under the Chatham House Rule. There is no planned livestream.

What may I share from the event?

Recorded talks intended for publication are on the record unless the speaker says otherwise.

For all other discussions—including Q&As, unconference sessions, and informal conversations—you may share the information, but must obtain prior permission before identifying any speaker or participant, or their affiliation. You may name the event.

What’s your press policy?

We are excited to include journalists, whether they plan to write about the event or not. Journalists follow the attendance process appropriate to their affiliation; if admitted, they wear a press badge by default.

For informal conversations, Q&As, and other discussions outside recorded talks intended for publication, journalists may report the information but must obtain prior permission before identifying participants or their affiliations.

Session-specific access and attribution conditions apply to everyone, including press. Recording any session requires written permission from us and the speaker.

Can I take or appear in photos?

Sparrow may publish event photos and video without compensation. Request a no-photo badge by email beforehand, and respect others’ photo preferences. Session recordings require the permissions above.

What conduct is expected?

Treat others respectfully. Harassment or disruption at conference activities may lead to removal without refund and exclusion from future events.

Will my details appear in an attendee directory?

Your name and volunteered directory details may be listed. Email us to opt out.
